Antioch's Dickens Holiday Village now open!

DICKENS HOLIDAY VILLAGE OPENS
November 8th thru January 2nd

The Antioch Chamber is proud to announce the opening of Dickens Holiday Village this Saturday, November 8th.  This is a community volunteer art program that you'll find on the sidewalks of Downtown Antioch through the months of November and December.
Each Dickens Character is completely handcrafted by our community volunteers...the platforms, the Dickens Mannequins, the Sculpted Heads, the Apparel reconfigured for Dickens  . . . everything is made by hand (you'll even find a turkey!).
Begin your Dickens Experience at our Dickens Welcome Center which is located at 400-1/2 Lake Street inside of the Village Antique Shop. You'll experience more about the creation of Dickens Holiday Village and some of the "behind the scenes" scoop!  Pick up your free Dickens Walking Tour Brochure and begin learning more about life during the Dickens Era.
Each Saturday beginning on November 15th, you'll discover fun activities for the family. You may experience one or several of these fun activities: Street Musicians, Carolers, Scrooge running away from the kids (kids: if you find him, ask him for some money and listen to him complain), a Dog Costume Contest, meet Mrs. Charles Dickens, Dickens Radio Performers . . . the list keeps growing!  Visit DickensHolidayVillage.com for a complete listing of fun!
If you aren't a Dickens Fan, but perhaps enjoy telling people Bah Humbug . . . you might be a candidate for a SCROOGE U Shirt or Mug (these make perfect holiday gift for the scrooges in your life!).
Different Tours are offered. Please visit our website at  DickensHolidayVillage.com for a complete schedule of fun activities and information!
Santa with Child Plus, Antioch opens Santa's Enchanted Village on November 28th (after the Tree Lighting Ceremony) and Santa will be there daily for free visits with the Children!  (Santa Hours are Saturdays-Sundays 1:00-4:00 pm; and Mondays-Fridays from 5:30-8:00 pm). Bring a camera to capture a memory or our Santa Helpers will take a photo for a nominal donation.
Gingerbread Train Antioch's Gingerbread Walk and Scavenger Hunt begins on December 6th in Downtown Antioch. You'll find dozens of delightful Gingerbread Creations and can join in the fun and take our Scavenger Hunt and you may even win a prize!  If you would like to submit your own Gingerbread Creation, please drop the completed piece off at the Village Hall before Thanksgiving.  Make sure you attach a paper with your name, address, email, and phone number.
